Malaysia Consumer Confidence
The Malaysian Confidence Index (MYCI) is a quarterly metric developed by Oppotus to gauge the sentiment and confidence levels of Malaysian consumers. It provides insights into public perceptions regarding the current and future state of the economy, personal financial well-being, and major spending intentions. The MYCI is derived from face-to-face interviews with a representative sample of Malaysians aged 18 to 65, conducted across key cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru, and Kuantan. The index serves as a valuable tool for understanding consumer behavior and economic outlooks in Malaysia. A value above 100 indicates expected improvement in conditions, a value below 100 shows lack of confidence and 100 indicates neutrality.
